A Dog Assessment is a vital step prior to any dog or puppy training. This will help us to identify your specific training requirements and also get to the root cause of any behavioural problems. There is always a reason why a dog behaves in a certain way, the key is to find out 'how' and 'why'.
This assessment takes approximately 1 hour.
During the assessment we will see your dog carrying out the behaviour to see 'how' and 'why' they are reacting in the way they do. We will also be able to see how you communicate with your dog, as this will ultimately help us to choose the best method to use and the appropriate training plan going forward and which class he needs to attend.
It is helpful if you provide with some basic information prior to the assessment:
Assessment Questions
Your name:
Contact Details:
Name of Dog:
Breed:
Age:
Has your dog had any previous training? If yes, when was it, what type of training and how successful was it?
What is your dog’s usual temperament and character?
Describe the problem(s) would like like to address through training
Rach will make the Assessment questions into a .pdf form that people can fill in and return. Do you want to change it?
Professional Dog Training & Advice can then create a training programme specifically tailored to meet your dog's needs.
Any methods we use to teach your dog (and you!) during lessons must be continued by the owners, consistency during dog training is the key.
