Dog Behavioural Assessment

A Dog Assessment is a vital step prior to any dog training. This helps us to identify and evaluate all the issues being displayed by your dog and allows us to assess the current level of training, together with assessing the dog's temperament to determine the most effective method of training to use; what works for one dog does not necessarily work for another.  This will identify any specific training requirements and provide essential information to determine the root cause of any behavioural problems and how to correct this behaviour. There is always a reason why a dog behaves in a certain way, the key is to find out 'how' and 'why'.

This assessment takes approximately 1 hour.

During the assessment, we will observe your dog's behaviours and discuss our recommendations with you before proceeding with any training.   It is very important to us that you understand and agree with our approach.  We will be able to see 'how' and 'why' they are reacting a certain way, what are the triggers. This is also an opportunity to see how you communicate with your dog, this will ultimately help us to choose the best training methods to use. Based on this information, we can then create an appropriate training plan.

All breeds of dog react differently to triggers.   This is the reason why one method or exercise drill does not work in the real world, principles do.  Everything you do with your dog stems from understanding the principles.  Principles can be adapted to any dog, any training or any situation.

Through our experience, we understand the different responses that certain breeds can exhibit.

Any methods we use to teach your dog (and you!) during lessons must be continued, consistency during dog training is the key.
